Pace to NAS Whiting Field: use a specific starting point
From US-90 at Woodbine Road, the OSRM route to the main gate is about 27 minutes and 15.3 miles via US-90, SR-87 and CR 87A. This is a free-flow model without traffic or gate queues. Test the route from the actual property at your reporting time; Pace addresses do not all have the same commute.
Pace family housing: three routes for Whiting Field families
Families with orders to NAS Whiting Field have three housing routes. The government housing office and the privatized leasing staff are separate offices, and the housing office is the first call for the first two.
- On-base family housing. Whiting Field on-base housing is privatized and operated by Balfour Beatty Communities as Whiting Field Homes; your BAH is paid to the housing partner as rent. Waits are not published and swing with pay grade, bedroom count and season (May through August runs longest), so apply the moment you have orders in hand and line up a Pace backup. - Buy in Pace. The 2026 median band is $310,000 to $395,000, in the same Santa Rosa County school district as Gulf Breeze, with Zone X flood status across almost the entire area and wind premiums typically 20-30% below coastal equivalents. Flood, Hurricane, and Insurance in Pace
